Welcome to The SMA
Wednesday 27TH September at 7pm
The CTA works to promote the legal cannabis sector within the United Kingdom, offering support, guidance, and representation for businesses and individuals involved in the industry. The association typically focuses on advocacy, lobbying, education, and compliance to ensure that the industry operates within a framework that is ethical, transparent, and in line with UK regulations.
The legal cannabis industry in the UK currently includes CBD products, medical cannabis under prescription, and the cultivation of certain types of cannabis plants for specific uses. The CTA plays a critical role in liaising between the industry and regulatory bodies, helping to shape policies and guidelines that both protect consumers and facilitate growth within the sector.
As Executive Director, Sian Phillips is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and stakeholder engagement, marketing, public relations and communications. The role requires a deep understanding of the legal and business landscape of the cannabis industry in the UK and overseas.
Sian has been a member since 2017 and a director since 2018. She became an executive director in 2020.
